Primary Health Care & Insurance based schemes in India

India account for 1% of total GDP expenditure on health care services which is lower than Global average expenditure of 6 %. Also  one of the nation with highest pocket out of expenditure on health care services and the availability of doctors and bed is alarming with 8/1000 person.

Various programmes by government of India focuses on providing accessible and affordable Healthcare to its citizen are :-
1. National Rural Health Mission(NRHM)
2. National Urban Health Mission(NUHM)
3. AAYUSH mission
4. Ayushman Bharat etc.

Strengthening the reach of Primary Health Care(PHC) to Citizen will help in
*  Reducing poverty and sustainable development.
*  Mortality rate such as maternal mortality ,child mortality
*  Increasing national income and percentage share to GDP
*  Boost the ranking of India in various indexes such as GII, HDI
* Achieving sustainable development
goals(SDG) and fulfilling the objective of DPSP.

Insurance based schemes along with public private partnership (PPP) will surely provide economical accessibility to health care coverage at affordable rates, thus reducing the expenditure burden on citizens.
Roasting the primary Healthcare (PHC) Institutions and infrastructure along with proper implementation of schemes and various inter ministerial and intern scheme coordination well surely help in achieving the expected results and universal health coverage ( UHC)to citizens of India.
