Primary Health Care & Insurance based schemes in India

India account for 1% of total GDP expenditure on health care services which is lower than Global average expenditure of 6 %. Also  one of the nation with highest pocket out of expenditure on health care services and the availability of doctors and bed is alarming with 8/1000 person. Various programmes by government of India focuses on providing accessible and affordable Healthcare to its citizen are :- 1. National Rural Health Mission(NRHM) 2. Interlinking of rivers. Scope and challenges associated with it.

Rivers interlinking is an ambitious project that had been launched by government of India in order to mitigate the water crisis and effects of flood and drought that arises in india along with aim of providing drinkable water, water for irrigation agriculture domestic and industrial use. The water is transferred from surplus river basin to deficit river Basin through canal, pipe system( underground or surface) or by other engineering methods.
